Owen has been part of the Articulate team for some time, and I thought it was about time I introduced him properly!
Owen is a professional technical writer and R&D researcher with 6 years experience supporting R&D tax credit claims. His career as a technical writer began with an education in journalism and public relations, two areas which support his work to understand R&D projects and communicate effectively with HMRC.
While working across a very broad range of subjects across fields of science and technology, Owen’s focus has been on the expanding field of software engineering, data analytics and fin-tech. Owen brings specific experience around enquiries – helping to support ongoing disputes, build evidence-backed arguments and strategising responses for companies.

Owen says: “It’s been, and continues to be, a real joy working at Articulate. Talking to interesting people, learning about new ideas and inventions, and generally seeing constant progress across science and technology makes for an easy wake-up on Monday mornings. Since joining, Articulate has given me the space to focus on and enjoy the task at hand; finding the right angle, explaining ideas clearly and, importantly, getting good outcomes with HMRC. It’s more important than ever to talk through R&D projects, understand their boundaries and create a clear picture – in my view Articulate Digital is the place for rigour, speed and clarity of thought.”
As we have expanded, Owen extends the capabilities of the team of R&D claims sector specialists, writers and researchers. Expanding the team has allowed us to be even more responsive and provide a very broad range of sector-specialist support to the R&D claims process – bringing claims experience across a wide spectrum of qualifying fields of science and technology.
